This is a two-year associates degree program designed to meet the lower level (freshman and sophomore) course requirements of a four-year University for students majoring in Chemistry Education. Students enrolled in this program plan to transfer into a Teacher Education Program at a university to teach Chemistry secondary education.

  1. Students will be able to recognize, relate, and/or apply chemistry terms and concepts to propose and solve interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary real-world problems.
  2. Students will be able to identify, formulate, and solve a range of chemistry problems through the application of mathematical, scientific and chemical principles.
  3. Students will be able to acquire, record, and critically evaluate data through instrumentation and software, appropriate record keeping practices, figure prep, and scrutiny of experimental results.

  1. Learning Environment: Students will demonstrate foundational knowledge of how to create safe, healthy, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments that support diverse learners by applying an asset-based mindset and recognizing systems of inequity.
