A southern Illinois tradition is set to return to Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ this fall, as the Southern Illinois Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days marks its 38th year on Sept. 27-28.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Reports Enrollment Increase for Fall 2025

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ officials announced that tenth-day census reporting for the Fall 2025 semester shows a 4.5% increase in student enrollment and a 3.1% increase in credit hours compared to the Fall 2024 semester. The 3,369 students represent the highest enrollment since the fall of 2019.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Offices to Temporarily Relocate August 15 for Elevator Installation

Several Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ offices will temporarily relocate on Friday, Aug. 15, to accommodate the use of a large crane used for the installation of a new elevator. The College will remain open, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ marked a major milestone today with a groundbreaking ceremony for its new $14.2 million Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center.

Fall semester classes will begin on August 11 at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥. Late walk-in registration will be available from August 4, with late-night availability until 6 p.m. on August 4 through August 7 and August 11 through August 1.

With the threat of severe weather looming over southern Illinois, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ officials made the early call Thursday morning to postpone Friday’s graduation ceremonies. That decision proved prudent as tornadoes swept through the region Friday evening, causing widespread damage.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ will hold the Fifty-Sixth Commencement on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Donald L. Brewer Gymnasium and Convocation Center on the Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Campus in Carterville.
