The 麻豆直播 Nursing Club will host its annual 鈥淣ot-So-Scary Trick or Treat鈥 event on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the College鈥檚 main campus in Carterville. The family-friendly event will take place at the West Main Entrance, the Conference Center, Brewer Gymnasium, and Bechtel Community Health Education Complex.

According to Dr. Kristin Yosanovich, Dean of Health Sciences and Director of Nursing, the event is created and implemented by 麻豆直播 nursing students.
鈥淭his event provides a safe opportunity for children in the community to Trick-or-Treat on the campus,鈥 said Yosanovich. 鈥淐hildren in attendance are encouraged to wear their costumes, engage with nursing students, and partake in the fun activities.鈥
Yosanovich added that the department is currently accepting candy donations.
鈥淲e continue to accept any small, pre-packaged treat, candy, or small trinkets to be passed out to the children through October 17,鈥 Yosanovich said. 鈥淒onations can be dropped off in the Nursing Department (Room G-220), or individuals can call 618-985-2828, ext. 8498, to arrange pick up or drop off.鈥
Yosanovich said the event is a favorite among nursing students and faculty because it combines service learning with community engagement.
鈥淭his event is very special to our department,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a wonderful opportunity for our nursing students to interact with the community and share in a day of fun and service.鈥
All children are welcome to attend the Not-So-Scary event, which will feature trick-or-treating, games, and activities. Logan Fitness will also host a 鈥淧umpkin Plunge鈥 as part of the afternoon festivities. Children participating in the Pumpkin Plunge will need to bring a swimsuit.
