HCCTP is a free, 12-week program designed to prepare individuals for careers in the highway construction trades. Funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, the program offers hands-on training, classroom instruction, and certifications that equip students with the skills necessary to enter apprenticeship programs or pursue construction-related employment.
Graduates complete rigorous training that includes courses in safety, math, blueprint reading, heavy equipment operation, and more. Participants also receive essential items, such as tools and personal protective equipment (PPE), along with a monthly stipend to support their success during training.
鈥淗CCTP changes lives,鈥 said Crystal Bouhl, Associate Director of Workforce & Community Education. 鈥淥ur graduates leave ready to step into high-demand, well-paying construction careers. We鈥檙e proud to celebrate their achievements and the opportunities that await them.鈥
